The Met Office has warned strong winds may lead to disruption, with delays likely for cars, buses and trains.
A yellow weather warning has been issued for Wiltshire and much of the south of England, from 10am to 6pm on Monday, March 13.
Strong and gusty winds are expected, which may lead to disruption on the roads, particularly for prone high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.
Commuters have also been warned delays are likely to road, rail, air and ferry services, with some journeys taking longer than usual, while damage to trees is also likely.
There may also be some short-term loss of power and other services.
The Met Office said: “Strong and gusty south-westerly winds may lead to some disruption, particularly for prone high-sided vehicles.
“South-westerly winds will widely gust to between 50 and 55 mph with gusts reaching 60 to 65 mph over some exposed coasts and hills.
“The highest gusts are expected between mid-morning and mid-afternoon.”
Motorists are advised to choose main roads, which are less likely to be exposed to fallen branches and debris, while travelling in strong winds and should leave enough room to account for their vehicles being blown sideways when exposed to the wind.
