A new hairdressers owned by a budding young entrepreneur has opened in Chippenham town centre.
Hair By Paige Louise, owned by 22-year-old Paige-Louise Tadhunter, is located on Station Hill and opened on Saturday, February 18.
Ms Tadhunter has been cutting and styling hair since she was just 14.
She had previously worked at the now closed Christopher James Hair Dressing salon, in Emery Gate Shopping Centre, for two years before becoming self-employed and renting a chair in the premises for another year.
It was this experience that allowed her to build up the clientele to fulfil her dream of owning her own business.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to take that step and expand to setup my own place. My two years of employment at the shop in town is were I built my clientele.
“After two years I was made to become self-employed because we weren’t making enough money but that was the best thing that could have happened to me because I was able to get my name out there.
“I’ve got a really good clientele now and I felt like I was ready to take that jump. Having your own business and shop at 22 is something to be proud of.”
Ms Tadhunter told this paper that the bullying she faced during her time at school has motivated her to succeed in the life and business.
She added: “I was bullied horrifically in school and life has been quite difficult for me but by bullying me they made me into the person I am today.
“I have been hairdressing for eight years now. I enjoy making people feel more confident about themselves and seeing a positive change.”
The new salon will offer haircuts but Ms Tadhunter also specialises in colouring hair, particularly blondes, and will be offering dye treatments.
Hair By Paige Louise will take walk in appointments but those wishing to book can do so through the salon’s Instagram page or by calling ahead on 07917 583495.
The shop will be open for extended hours, from 9.30am to 9pm, on Wednesday and Thursdays every week.
Ms Tadhunter formally opened her new premises on Friday, February 17 with an opening evening for new and existing clients who were given prosecco, nibbles and goodies.
At the time she said on Facebook: “Words cannot describe how happy I am. My dream has finally come true.
“I look forward to all my clients taking this journey with me, the best is yet to come.”
