A Wiltshire beauty salon has been nominated for a national award just over a year after opening.
Chippenham Aesthetic House, found on Park Lane, is run by Teri Griffiths who started the business from her own living room several years ago.
Ms Griffiths has expanded the company in that time and rented spaces in multiple different salons before finally securing her own premises.
When her friend Claire Blackwood told her she would be moving her own beauty business from the Park Lane salon to a new location, Ms Griffiths jumped at the chance to take over the premises and has not looked back since.
She is proud to have been nominated for three awards, including Best Clinic and Best for Aesthetics, by the UK Hair and Beauty Awards, just a year after opening her own salon.
She said: “It’s very exciting and I’m very proud. To be nominated for three awards is a major thing and sometimes you don’t realise until you look back and think ‘that’s really amazing’.
“We are over the moon and so very proud of the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes to create such an amazing clinic.”
Ms Griffiths is particularly pleased with the accomplishment as she has juggled the business with being a single mother and coping with the death of her own mother in September 2021.
“We had to deal with the fact that my mum died from cancer in the September, so it has been a bit of a journey this last year or so," she said.
“I had to take a number of months off work to grieve but in January 2022 I turned my pain into power and opened my beauty clinic.
“Juggling being a single mother and work was so tough but I have put all my energy into building a reputable clinic”.
Chippenham Aesthetic House offers a range of general beauty treatments including lash extensions and all kinds of brow treatments.
Ms Griffiths also offers aesthetics treatments. This involves all non-surgical filler-based treatments and anti-wrinkle treatments.
The clinic has launched a training academy, for other local beauticians who want to take part in masterclasses and learn new skills.
The UK Hair and Beauty Awards aims to celebrate both big and small businesses within the industry.
Ms Griffiths will learn whether the clinic has triumphed in their category on April 21.
