A gang of three youths seen wielding a claw hammer outside Sainsbury's are wanted by police.
Police rushed to reports of a disorder outside the supermarket in The Pippen, Calne, at around 8.30pm on January 6.
One youth had been assaulted by an armed group of three and suffered an eye injury.
Police say they were lucky not to have been seriously injured.
Sgt David Rooksby said: “This was a serious incident, and it is fortunate that the victim is not believed to have been seriously injured.
“We will not tolerate violence of this nature within our community and our enquiries in relation to this disorder have been ongoing.”
Police are now searching for three people who were captured on CCTV cameras during the incident.
Sgt Rooksby added: “We have obtained these CCTV images and we are appealing to the public for their help in identifying three individuals.
“We appreciate these are not especially clear images, but if you have any information at all, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please get in touch.”
