Police are searching for a young boy after a bottle was launched at a swan in Calne.
The incident took place in James Avenue on Friday, January 20, when somebody threw a bottle at the bird between 4.45pm and 5pm.
Police have now released a CCTV image of two swans and a young boy who they are hoping to speak to about the attack.
Although the image is low quality, the police are urging parents and guardians to speak to their children to establish if they were involved.
They are also asking residents with further CCTV cameras covering the area to contact them if they have footage during this timeframe.
A spokesperson said: “This CCTV image shows a young boy we would like to speak to in connection to an incident in James Avenue, Calne on January 20 between 4.45pm and 5pm.
“Please pass on any information in relation to this matter by calling Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 54230007159.
“Please ask for the information to be passed to PCSO Mark Cook at Calne police station. You can also contact Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
