A Devizes primary school is celebrating an outstanding Ofsted rating after a 14 year wait for an inspection.
Holy Trinity Primary Academy in Great Cheverell achieved the highest possible grade in all areas, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.
The result came after a two day inspection in November and sees them maintain the outstanding rating from their last inspection in 2008. They have had to wait for the inspection because schools with lower ratings have been prioritised.
Headteacher Anna Woodman was thrilled with the grade and attributed it to the hard work of the staff and children.
She said: “It’s really challenging to get the outstanding so it’s taken a lot of hard work by a lot of people to achieve it. It’s incredible.
“I have an inspirational staff team. They’re talented, they’re dedicated and they bring an excellence to their work that allows our children to flourish.
“We’re very proud of our children. Their commitment and aspiration shone through. From the youngest to the oldest they have showcased the Holy Trinity magic.”
Mrs Woodman felt the children demonstrated the school’s values of joy, courage, aspiration and compassion to help them cement the grade.
She attributed the school’s success to strong partnerships with parents, volunteers and the local community.
