A new shop has just opened in the busy Devizes indoor market.
Brissi at The Shambles opened in early October just after a new shop unit became available in the community’s beloved space.
Arianna Brissi is the Italian founder and Creative Director, and has lived in the outskirts of Devizes for 23 years.
Her appreciation and love for her home town has grown over the years and it was only a matter of time before a Brissi shop was to open her.
The gift shop, Brissi, which sells an array of unusual objects started in 2001 in Marlborough when the founder- Arianna Brissi opened her doors for the first time on the High Street.
From there, it quickly grew to five London stores including Notting Hill, Kings Road and Marylebone.
In 2014 a large flagship show home followed in the heart of Milsom street, Bath.
After spiralling costs all the stores closed in 2019 and Brissi was only an online presence.
The shop sells lots of different kind of objects as well as their Home Fragrance, together with selected home accessories such as crystal glassware, Italian tea towels, vases and of a selection of Christmas decorations.
Arianna said: ‘’The atmosphere here is infectious, everybody is so happy and chatty, it is a little bit like an Italian indoor market arcade.
‘‘Customers are more relaxed than in a traditional High Street setting and I couldn’t be happier with the welcome I have received here by the local community and the traders.
“Popular choices in Devizes have been the more unusual items, like the Italian tea towels she imports exclusively and of course the fine scented candles.”
People have been discussing the arrival of Brissi in Devizes both among the community and on social media.
One person took to the Facebook group, Devizes News, to speak about the visit she made and share a photo of the brand new addition to the popular market.
They said: “New to The Shambles, is this beautiful little stall/shop with lots of lovely gifts perfect for Christmas- the lady Arianna is so lovely and is so helpful.”
One woman had also been to see what Brissi is all about.
She commented on the post: “I bought something from her today… she was lovely and I’m super happy with my purchase!”
Another person added: “Love the name Brissi.”
You can find Brissi at Unit 7 at The Shambles Arcade.
