British singer Tom Odell is taking to the stage in Marlborough later this month.
The singer who is most famous for his viral hit; ‘Another Love’ will be performing at the College Memorial Hall on Saturday, October 29.
Odell is set to play a short solo set to promote the release of his brand new album ‘Best Day Of My Life' at the sold-out event.
A spokesperson for Sound Knowledge which is organising the event said: “We heard so many compliments after his moving set last October where the former BRITs Critic's Choice and Ivor Novello-winner transformed the darkly beat-driven songs of last record 'monsters' into mesmerising piano compositions.
“His new album 'Best Day Of My Life' also strips things back to just Tom's voice and the 88 keys, drawing inspiration from Erik Satie and Philip Glass, as well as the beautiful landscapes and vistas of Studio Ghibli animations while also channelling their feeling of corruption and sadness.”
After four Top 5 albums, this set of songs promises to be his most personal and poignant to date.
‘Best Day Of My Life' is released on Friday, October 28 on CD, LP and indies purple vinyl.
His performance in Marlborough starts from 8pm, with doors opening at 7:30pm.
Odell has been in the limelight recently, as social media has taken his song, ‘Another Love’ and turned it into a TiktTok sensation, with users pairing it alongside protest videos.
The Independent recently reported that Iranian women have now been using the clip to soundtrack their protest videos in response to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while she was in custody of the “morality police”.
The newspaper also reported that Odell had said when reacting to the videos: “I'm shocked by the events taking place in Iran.
“I am sending love and thoughts to those incredibly brave people standing up for human rights and standing up for women.
“Everyone should have the choice to wear, or not wear, whatever they choose.”
While performing "Another Love" on September 26 in Germany, the singer also made a dedication to the protesters.
He stated: "Tonight I want to dedicate it to the brave people who are protesting in Iran.
“We might be far from Iran here in Hannover Germany, but I think and hope that I speak for everyone in this room that we stand together with everyone protesting for human rights and women’s rights.”
