An initiative set up to provide comfort and conversation to people in Devizes has finally found a new home.
The group sees people meet up every Friday evening with no agenda, in order to provide people with comfort and reduce loneliness.
In recent months it has had to take place outside, but they have now secured a new spot in the Cheese Hall for people to gather.
Devizes Town Council granted people permission on Tuesday, September 27 for the group to hold their meetings in the Town Hall, much to the delight of those involved.
Up until recently, they were gathering at the Wharf from 1pm, but it was often impacted by weather conditions.
Member of the group, Angie Giles said: “We are absolutely thrilled.
“So pleased to have the support from the town council and now we have some stability and continuity for the group."
Angie added: “It will mean so much to so many people. Especially heading into winter and being able to meet up.
"It will be really poignant to go into the Cheese Hall, bringing people of Devizes together in a room that's sorrounded by the history of the town."
