The popular Wiltshire band Burbank, who have been compared to Ed Sheeran singing with the Everly Brothers, will headline the return of the Devizes Lions annual concert at St Mary’s Church on Saturday March 19.
Burbank are Luke Gittins add Ashley Smith, who formed in 2016. Luke is the lead guitarist and vocalist and Ash focuses on the cajon beat box and backing vocals.
A Devizes Lions spokesman said: “For Burbank, think Ed Sheeran meets the Everly Brothers. They have an eclectic catalogue of covers and original material that showcases their great harmonies. They have been likened to Lennon and McCartney and Simon and Garfunkel.”
Burbank will be supported by the Steeple Rocks Choir from Bratton, near Westbury.
“With a range of songs from rock, pop, folk and gospel their emphasis is on fun and the joy of singing. Despite their name, their mix of songs is not rock in general nor that of a traditional choir, but is from all genres,” said the spokesman.
The Lions concert will be in aid of Wiltshire Mind, the independent charity that for almost 30 years has been supporting people in the county who are experiencing mental health problems or emotional distress.
Tickets are £15 from Devizes Books or The Wardrobe Devizes.
