THE Wiltshire pair of Jordan Smith and Laurie Canter experienced mixed results at last week's Ras Al Khaimah Classic.
Following on from his second-place finish at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship, Chippenham's Smith made the cut on the number at three under par before tailing off thanks to a day-three 74.
The 29-year-old gained the two strokes back on Sunday with a closing 70, and remains seventh on the Race to Dubai courtesy of the week's results and his fantastic start to the year.
However, there was brighter news for Cumberwell Park golfer Laurie Canter who finished in a tie for 25th in just his third start of the new DP World Tour season.
The 32-year-old opened with a round of 69 before moving to seven under prior to the weekend's action.
While fellow Englishman Ross Fisher chained together two six-under-par outings to end second on his own, Canter took just five more shots off the Al Hamra Golf Course to take home a modest 17,000 euros in his tie for 25th.
The DP World Tour will take a two-week break before returning on March 3 for the Magical Kenya Open in Nairobi.
