1966: The scene is a packed Devizes Market Place.
This was the year the railway station closed, a victim of the Beeching cuts that saw the closure of thousands of lines across the country.
Now there are hopes a Devizes Parkway could be built between Westbury and Pewsey.
It was also the year Devizes Town's "greatest ever player" Roger Hunt brought reflected World Cup glory as a member of the winning England team. He died in September last year, aged 83.
In 1966 Le Marchant Barracks still had soldiers in it, a rural district council was in charge and the twinning with Waiblingen in Germany was signed three years after the twinning with the French town of Mayenne.
