A WILTSHIRE Council cabinet member has stepped down to focus on her business.
Pauline Church, the cabinet member for finance as well as the councillor for Wilton, Quidhampton and Netherhampton has stood down from her leadership role.
Cllr Church has been in the appointment since 2018.
Leader of the council, Richard Clewer, confirmed this news during this week’s cabinet meeting.
Cllr Church said: "It's been a huge honour and privilege to be part of Wiltshire Council’s Cabinet for the last four years and I have worked tirelessly in the roles I have held.

“While my business is going through a period of growth I must focus on that at this time to ensure it is manageable and sustainable.
“Despite standing down from cabinet, I will continue in my role as a division councillor and support the residents of Wilton, Quidhampton and Netherhampton to ensure the best outcomes for the community."
Cllr Clewer praised the councillor, saying: "Cllr Church has worked tremendously hard with officers and other cabinet members this year to ensure we will be able to set a balanced budget which will deliver the best outcomes for residents and businesses across Wiltshire."
Ian Thorn, who heads up the Liberal Democrats also praised Cllr Church for her clear and understandable reports.

Cllr Ashley O’Neill will take on responsibility for governance, IT and broadband while Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling will head up public health and protect. Cllr Nic Puntis was also appointed as portfolio holder for flooding.
