The New Year Honours 2022 lists have been published, marking the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom.

The Queen's commendations seek to honour the contributions of people from all walks of life.

This year those who have helped their community throughout the Covid pandemic feature heavily.

The Wiltshire winners named in the New Year’s Honours are:

  • Sharon Blyfield of Malmesbury. Sharon, head of early careers and apprenticeships with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, OBE for services to apprenticeships.
  • Zoe Keeton of Malmesbury. The head of regulatory affairs UK and Ireland, RWE renewables, Zoe wins the OBE for services to renewable energy.
  • Professor Veronica Elizabeth Bowman of Salisbury. Statistics and Data Science Fellow, Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. OBE for services to Defence and the Covid-19 Response.
  • Adrian Smith, chief executive of Reclaim Fund Ltd, Swindon, OBE for services to the financial sector.
  • Denise O’Leary, of Chippenham, founder of Purpol Marketing, MBE for services to the construction industry.
  • Joy Tubbs of Westbury, director of the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Education, MBE for services to education.
  • Jonathan Turner of Bradford-on-Avon, South West regional head of laboratory operations with Public Health England, MBE for services to public health during Covid-19.
  • Jane Boulton, of Chippenham, manager of Springboard Specialist Pre-School, BEM for services to education.
  • Ellen Blacker of Chippenham, health and wellbeing champion for the Malmesbury community area, BEM for services to the community in Malmesbury and Chippenham, particularly during Covid-19.
  • Simon Coombe of Limpley Stoke, BEM for services to the community of Limpley Stoke during Covid-19.
  • Peter Deck, former chairman of Pewsey Parish Council, BEM for services to the community in Pewsey.
  • Edward Evans of Warminster, BEM for services to the community in Wiltshire.
  • Amanda Mathews of Tisbury, senior adviser for Natural England, BEM for public service during Covid-19.
  • Tina May, of Chippenham, BEM for services to the community in North Wiltshire.
  • David Rowe, of Bradford-on-Avon, founder of Libraries Hacked. BEM for services to public libraries.
  • Timothy Swinyard, of Swindon Borough Council, BEM for services to the community in Swindon particularly during Covid-19.
  • Sarah Williams-Martin, of Melksham, BEM for services to the community in Bath and North East Somerset during Covid-19.
  • Paul Bromage, of Salisbury, BEM for services to the community in Salisbury, Wiltshire particularly during Covid-19.
  • Thomas Matthew John Kimnell, of Salisbury, lately Police Constable, Surrey Police. BEM for services to Policing and Youth Engagement in Surrey Heath.
  • And detective sergeant Robert Cooper, lately of Wiltshire Police, is awarded the Queen’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
