A DEVELOPER is promising a first-of-its-kind 95 house estate with highly sustainable and affordable homes.
Legal & General Modular Homes promises its plans for Bore Hill Farm in Warminster will be aimed at young families and first time buyers.
The land, west of Deverill Road in the south of the town, has been earmarked for residential development through the housing allocation plan, adopted by Wiltshire Council in 2020.
Business development director for the developer, Mike Dempsey said: “Our innovative approach seeks to make the housing market fairer for all by delivering high-quality modular homes that are comfortable, sustainable and affordable. We are delighted to be bringing this approach to Warminster with our proposed new neighbourhood at Bore Hill Farm.
“With Wiltshire Council seeking to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030, our plans for the homes that reach the highest standard of energy efficiency sit well with the bold climate ambitions of the county.

“Our modular construction technique mean that the homes are built in half the time of traditional homes.
“This means much less disruption for our neighbours, with far fewer workers on site generating much less construction traffic and greatly reduced noise and dust.”
The innovative approach sees homes built modularly in a factory and put together on-site with finishings such as brick, slate and wood added to make the homes look like a traditional build.
