AN IMPRESSIVE collection of football programmes will go under the hammer in Chippenham on Friday (October 1).
Wessex Auction Rooms claims it is "one of the best collections of football programmes that has been sold at auction for many years!"
The well-known collection from the late Ken Bridgeman, includes a near complete run of Swindon Town home and away programmes from the 1946/47 season onwards with a large number of reserve, youth and exhibition matches.
However Kenneth’s collection did not just stop at Swindon Town and the auction includes an almost A-Z of both football and non-league club programmes from Arsenal to York City.
Ken was a regular purchaser from Wessex Auction Rooms, and made it known to his family that when he passed he wanted to ensure that Tim Weeks was the person to sell his collection as he knew of Tim’s passion for football programmes.
The collection is expected to fetch in advance of £20,000 and has already drawn interest from across Europe, the auctioners report.
The full catalogue can be found here.
People can also view the collection in person on Friday from 9am. The auction will start at 12pm.
