Road closures for the much-loved Mop Fairs in Marlborough have been announced.
The Showmen's Guild of Great Britain (Western Section) have contacted residents and businesses in the vicinity of the High Street, New Road and Kingsbury Street to notify them of upcoming road closures planned for the Mop Fairs in October.
The Mop Fairs typically visit the town every year, in a tradition dating back to 1204. The fairs, known as the Big and Little Lop, require road closures.
This year, it is proposed that the High Street (A4),A4 New Road and Kingsbury Street from the junction with Silverless Street be closed from 12 midday on October 8 until 8am on October 10, then again between 12 midday on October 15 until October 17 at 8am.
As the road will be fully closed, the Showmen's Guild have requested that people make arrangements for their vehicles to be moved during these times.
