The MP for Devizes has faced backlash after he tweeted his support of Labour MP Rosie Duffield.
Ms Duffield, MP for Canterbury, sparked anger after she liked a number of Twitter posts that campaigners say are offensive to the LGBTQ+ community.
She had liked a tweet by musician Kurtis Tripp which said trans people are “mostly heterosexuals cosplaying as the opposite sex”.
His tweet also said that trans people needed to “stop co-opting our language” and “stop colonising gay culture”.
The Times reports that Ms Duffield is being investigated following the incident.
Devizes MP Danny Kruger has made his position known, and tweeted "#IStandWithRosieDuffield".
When people derive their identity - indeed, their existence - from their feelings, then there is no more debate, no more relationship, and no such thing as society. For that reason #IStandWithRosieDuffield

He wrote: "When people derive their identity - indeed, their existence - from their feelings, then there is no more debate, no more relationship, and no such thing as society. For that reason #IStandWithRosieDuffield."
Comedy writer James Felton also replied to Mr Kruger's Tweet: "There have been trans people for a long time, and last time I checked society still existed. Keep going for that title of the worst of the Krugers though pal."
Joe Brindle, a climate activist in Devizes, also replied: "Conservative MP says people being transgender leads to there being 'no such thing as society' How is this even slightly acceptable?"
Helen Belcher is a Liberal Democrat councillor in Corsham. She also founded Trans Media Watch, which aims to improve the representation of trans people in the UK's media.
She told the Gazette: "I think it’s so sad that people want to impose a very reductive and restrictive way of being onto others.
"I note that the tweeter that Rosie Duffield liked has a record of laughing at trans people who are suicidal.
"People can make up their own minds about how cruel that actually is, and so what people who “stand” with those views must believe.
"Personally, I prefer a world where people are free to be themselves, where we respect everyone’s identity, however it is based, and can get back to addressing the very real problems that our world faces, such as the climate and biodiversity crises, access to justice and poverty."
In a seperate Tweet, Mr Kruger had added: "Traditionally identity was assumed to be given not chosen - a description of what you actually are. Now it is argued identity is based on feelings - what you want to be.
"We can usefully argue about the facts (eg whether there is a god) but we can’t argue about someone’s feelings - they are absolute. Hence the intolerance, and what I mean by the end of society."
Harry Potter author J K Rowling has also tweeted her support for Ms Duffield, as has SNP MP for Edinburgh South West, Joanna Cherry QC.
Meanwhile LGBT+ Labour, the party's lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer rights group, have called for the MP's whip to be removed.
A statement from the group said that Duffield has displayed, “a pattern of LGBT-phobic behaviour culminating in the endorsement of tweet from a person arrested on terrorism charges which accuses members of the LGBT+ community of being ‘cosplayers'.”
We are calling for the whip to be removed from Rosie Duffield MP and have a submitted a formal complaint to the party about her conduct.@UKLabour must show zero tolerance towards homophobia and transphobia, including from its own MPs.https://t.co/gtXbFfNaM4
— LGBT+ Labour (@LGBTLabour) July 26, 2021
Labour has said the party takes all complaints of homophobia or transphobia extremely seriously and these are fully investigated.
Ms Duffield had been a member of Keir Starmer's front bench until she stood down for breaking lockdown rules earlier this year.
Danny Kruger's office has been contacted for comment.
