WILTSHIRE residents are being asked to help shape the future of local bus travel as part of a £3bn government “bus back better” scheme.
To put together its Bus Service Improvement Plan, the local authority is asking for the views of residents, businesses and other organisations to find out where the current routes could do better.
Wiltshire Council has already won £1.2m in funding to improve transport in the Pewsey Vale area.
Cabinet member for transport, Dr Mark McClelland said the council is determined to capitalise on the funding to help improve travel in the vast rural county.
“I encourage as many people as possible to take part in our short survey, including those who don’t currently use buses, as this will provide us with vital information as we make our local bus services plans,” he continued.
“We want to improve services in the county, so to get passengers’ insights, habits and their thoughts on how the pandemic has affected things will prove to be really useful.
“The feedback received will really help shape our thoughts and make a difference to our plans.”
The survey will run until August 23, 2021. Physical copies of the survey can be picked up at council offices or by clicking here.
