The Chippenham Male Voice Choir has not been singing since March 9, due to covid restrictions and members "have all seriously missed" weekly get togethers as well as the singing itself.
Chairman Phil Dyke has kept the group informed and entertained with a weekly Lockdown News, which will have reached edition 66 by the time the group starts again on August 2 at St Peter’s Church, Frogwell.
Some of the group have also kept in touch with a weekly Zoom meeting again hosted, mainly by Phil, but also assisted by secretary Henry Miles.
Due to covid, the choir missed the chance to celebrate their 80 year anniversary, but hope to have a belated event next year.
They also plan to give back to worthy charities later this year.
On December 16, the choir will perform in the Cracker Concert at St Andrews Church in Chippenham.
The following day, they will do a show with the Caravan & Motor Home Club Choir, also at St Andrews Church.
New singers are all welcome to join the group
Ring Phil Dyke on 01249 782692 or just turn up on a Monday night from August 2, for a rehearsal at 7:30pm, in St Peter’s Church, Frogwell, Chippenham.
Further information about the choir, including details of hiring the choir for a function, can be found on our website www.chipmvc.co.uk.
