SOUTH West Wiltshire MP Dr Andrew Murrison has been re-appointed Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy to Morocco.
The surprise appointment is a major turn-around for Dr Murrison, who lost his job as minister of state at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development in the February re-shuffle.
Dr Murrison said: āIām delighted to be asked to do this and look forward to promoting trade between the two Kingdoms in the post Brexit environment.ā
Dr Murrison has a long association with Morocco. He is a former Minister for North Africa and the Middle East and ex-chair of the Morocco All Party Parliamentary Group. He has an important Moroccan ex-pat community in his constituency.
In October 2019, as Minister of State at the Foreign Office, he signed the post-Brexit trade association agreement with Morocco.
