CAB FIRMS across Wiltshire are offering free rides to NHS workers.
The free cab service is available to NHS staff around the country travelling to and from hospitals.
The initiative is being fronted by cab price comparison site Minicabit which has firms from Marlborough, Chippenham, Corsham, Calne, Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Warminster and Westbury on its books.
The service is being funded by charitable donations and it already has more than £100,000 in the bank.
The donated cash will be used to cover the outgoings of any of the private hire cab companies on minicabit’s network.
Minicabit CEO Amer Hasan said: “Our NHS heroes around the UK currently face enough challenges at the frontline, getting there shouldn’t be one of them. Donating what you saved in not having to commute means we could keep this scheme in place until we emerge from this pandemic.”
