SOME shed tears, others hugged loved ones, while some simply sat silently - but all came to pay their respects to brave couple Bob and Deb Fry.
The coffins of Mr and Mrs Fry sat side-by-side in St Bartholomew's Church, Wootton Bassett, this evening.
Friends came to the church to reflect on the lives of the couple, who died in a heroic bid to rescue their two children Rosie, 11, and George, nine, from dangerous waters off the coast of Portugal.
Smiling pictures of Mr and Mrs Fry were placed in front of the coffins, while candles were spread around the church.
Mourners came to pray and remember the couple, as a sombre atmosphere once again descended over the town on the crisp, autumn night.
Families made their way to St Bartholomew's and hugged each other as they sat, reflecting on the tragic loss.
A floral arrangement was placed on top of each coffin and the stems of each intertwined in the middle.
A number of touching floral tributes were also placed outside the church by those who knew Mr and Mrs Fry.
One read: "Remembering you with fondest thoughts. We will miss your smiles."
Another said: "Many happy memories, which will always remain in our hearts and thoughts. We will miss you both very much."
While another eloquently summed up the thoughts of many: "You will remain in our hearts and thoughts always."
The private, family funeral will take place at Kingsdown Crematorium tomorrow morning and will be followed by a memorial service at 1.30pm at St Bartholomew's, which all those who knew Mr and Mrs Fry are welcome to attend.
