FIRE FIGHTERS were called to junction 17 on the M4 yesterday evening to a van that had caught fire.
The white van had just left Leigh Delamare service station when the driver began to smell smoke coming from the engine.
Just after he had pulled on to the hard shoulder the engine went up in flames.
One crew from Chippenham was called just after 5.30pm to put out the blaze and the driver, who is thought to be from Newbury was unharmed.
