A FAMILY'S kitchen has been gutted by a fire which broke out this morning in a dormer bungalow in Tilshead.
A woman living in the house called the fire brigade after she saw smoking coming out of the airing cupboard in the kitchen after she woke up just before 7am.
She got her family out of the house which is in High Street and a crew from Amesbury and Devizes arrived.
Four fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus put the fire out. Fans were used to ventilate the house.
Pip Flowers, commander of Devizes Fire Station, said: "The kitchen is wrecked and the rest of the house has got smoke damage. The lady did the right thing by getting everybody out of the house until we arrived."
The cause is being investigated but it is thought that an electrical fault could be to blame.
