IT was a good performance against Wightlink Raiders on Saturday, I said last week I would have been very upset had we not won - so I was glad we did.

It was probably the best start we've had this season, being 2-0 up after three minutes, and we need to prove we can do that consistently.

In contrast, 24 hours later we had our worst start in the 5-2 cup defeat to Bracknell Bees on Sunday and it was disappointing, but we can take some positives out of the game.

Joel Petkoff bagged another two and he has shown exactly why we have brought him back here.

Lets make it clear, he has not come back as the saviour or anything like that, he is back here to do the job Marek Hornak wasn't doing. Scoring goals.

It will be difficult playing against Marek on Saturday when we go to Telford - because he is a good player.

He might have a point to prove and there is no doubt he will try to prove it. But we know how to play against him and therefore, how to stop him.

It would be good to go there and take some points because we need to start getting on a run.

We have got Slough at home on Sunday which will be a tough one for us and it will show us exactly where we are in terms of performance.

We want to beat them because there are cup games the weekend after so to take some league points before a break is important.

After that we must be looking to string eight or nine wins together because we want to start peaking in January.

We want to be at the top of our game by then, and go into the play-offs flying.
