HARVEST gifts for the Swindon Collective were welcomed at the Harvest Thanksgiving service at St Bartholomew's Church, where a well-attended family service featured a central display of produce to illustrate God's Creation.
At Evensong, the choir sang an anthem. The weekend also included a Harvest Supper at St Bartholomew's Church Hall. The menu included shepherd's pie and vegetables, followed by treacle tart and cream. An alternative menu was available for vegetarians.
This event, for which the hall was filled, was organised by the harvest team, led by Honor Page. A prize for the best decorated table (judged by Mariama Blease), a lucky envelope tombola and a quiz of jumbled local place names added to the fun. The Rev Ollie Blease, who said Grace before the meal, thanked all who had worked so hard to arrange this very successful event.
