After a six month struggle Calne Leisure Action Group are finally getting the keys to the leisure centre.
North Wilts District Council will officially hand over the keys to the building to CLAG on Tuesday at 9.30pm.
This marks the last stage in the negotiation process with the council and means volunteers can start renovating the centre.
Finance director of Calne Leisure Limited Peter Dolman said: Its a done deal. For six months we have battled on to save the leisure centre.
I am very excited about the handing over of the keys. Although it is a little daunting to think of all the work we have to do.'' Calne Leisure Limited, formally CLAG, have already appointed a manager and administrator for the centre and plan to open on January 7.
The group are planning to recruit a team of staff from Calne to help run the centre.
CLAG will be hosting a recruitment fair on November 3 at the Lansdowne in Calne.
As well as recruiting staff the group are keen to start selling memberships to the leisure centre.
They will have a stall outside the centre on November 3 selling memberships and taking donations.
Mr Dolman said: "It is such a relief to be able to get the keys and get started."
