Cyclists in Calne are being warned by police to stop flaunting cycle laws or risk being fined.
Police are clamping down on dangerous cyclists after receiving a record number of complaints of people cycling on pavements in the town centre.
Cyclists are also being told to put lights on their bikes or risk being taken to court.
At night all bicycles must have a white front light, a red rear lamp and a back red reflector.
Cyclists with no lights are at risk of a £30 fixed penalty notice or a court summons.
In a bid to get all cyclists fully kitted out, Calne bike shop Peddlers is offering all cyclists a 50 per cent discount on cycle lights if they produce a voucher issued by the town's neighbourhood policing team.
Calne police are asking cyclists to contact the neighbourhood policing team for a voucher or risk being pulled over.
Police promised that any cyclist who is stopped without lights will be given a warning before being fined.
Sgt Steve Dixon of Calne Police said: "The aim of this initiative is not to persecute the pedal cyclist but to promote sensible and safer cycling not just for the rider but also for other road users."
Police also urged cyclists not to use footpaths or pavements unless absolutely necessary.
Sgt Dixon said: "We are asking cyclists to think about the manner in which they ride their cycle. Cyclists found committing offences will be stopped and asked to consider their actions. Enforcement penalty notices will be issued if the problem persists."
