DAUNTSEY’S School pupils have staged their annual ROCKfest concert to a packed audience. A total of 25 acts took to the stage, split into two sets.
This year’s show included performances from Dauntsey’s very own staff band – The Paul Gordon Experience - and the technical crew outdid themselves with a specialised lighting set created for each act.
Pupils and staff voted for their favourite acts of the night and ‘Best Band’ and ‘Best Dressed Band’ categories were won by Jeanne House Band. ‘Best Solo Act’ went to Malin, with a vocal performance of real quality delivered at the piano, and ‘Best Band’ in the Lower School went to Katmandu, whose stunning vocal harmonies really captured the mood of the audience. Apollo 7 won ‘Best Overall Performance’.
Kester Sims, head of music technology at Dauntsey’s said: “A huge well done to everybody who took part and especially to the team of pupils who gave up so much of their time to set up and run the sound and lighting rigs.
“My thanks also go to the staff, pupils and parents who supported the event so enthusiastically. This is what gives ROCKfest such an encouraging and exciting atmosphere.”
