A FEAST of musical talent was served at Sheldon School's Young Musician of the Year contest, with a wide variety of instruments and musical styles.
Rock guitar, jazz clarinet and Handel’s Messiah were all part of a diverse programme at the Young Musician final on March 5. The evening was even a premier for some of Sheldon’s budding composers.
The contest was adjudicated by Charlie Morris, from Bristol Grammar School, with performances from a range of instrumentalists and singers, playing violin, flute, drums, saxophone, clarinet, guitar and piano, with students from in years 7 to 13.
The overall winner this year was Poppy Jabelman.
Music teacher Laura Venn said:"I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride in the talent we have at Sheldon. Young Musician continues, for me, to be the stand-out event on the music calendar due to the exceptionally high standard our students continue to bring year on year.”
