FRIENDS of Terry Dobney have appealed for support in raising £3,000 in order to buy a wheelchair accessible car for him. Mr Dobney, 70, has suffered a stroke leaving him wheelchair bound and unable to get around without help. The former biker and self-styled Keeper of the Stones who lives in West Kennett can no longer get out and about. If he can buy a car then his friend Sue Lomas can take him to celebrations in Avebury such as the solstice. Sue said he took an interest in the Avebury stone circle as a school boy when he visited the site and since becoming an Arch Druid he has been a fixture at the events there. She said there is only one wheelchair accessible taxi in the area which is often booked up so having access to a car would transform his life. Tara Skinner who set up the fund said Terry was generous with a warm sense of humour and was a “wonderful big hairy Druid”. To support the appeal go to https://www.gofundme.com/freedom-for-terry
