ACTRESS Michelle Dockery was back in Lacock for the filming of the much awaited movie version of Downton Abbey.
Back in 2015 Ms Dockery was not amused when tourists found their way on the set of the TV series in the National Trust village and took pictures with their mobile phones. But this time around tight security meant that only invited guests got close enough to take pictures.
Little is known about the film's plot but it is expected to pick up sometime after the Downton series came to and end set in 1925. It is likely to be released in Europe on September 13, 2019 and a week later in the US.
Stars such as Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Matthew Goode and Penelope Wilton are expected to reprise their roles.
But last week it was only Ms Dockery and Allen Leech who plays her brother-in-law Irishman Tom Branson could be spotted last Wednesday.
The day before Hugh Bonneville and Laura Carmichael were in the village.
The Downton Abbey crew transformed Church Street into a 1920s livestock market. Sheep, pigs and a one-ton long-horned bull joined the cast, as well as many extras, creating a bustling market scene.
On Wednesday a celebration scene featuring soldiers and horses from the Royal Artillery was filmed.
Ms Dockery took to Instagram to post her first snap from the drama's set sharing an image of a clapperboard on set along with the words: 'And... we're off'.
Imelda Staunton, Geraldine James, Simon Jones, and Stephen Campbell Moore are among the new additions to the cast.
National Trust volunteers and village tenants were chosen to be extras.
