A BUOYANT Steve Coombs praised his Westinghouse team after they set the pace to leave Malmesbury reeling on Saturday.
The win leaves the Wiltshire Division outfit just ten points off second place Great Bedwyn and they host misfiring Devizes in their next game.
South African Nico Genade continued his good form with an impressive 88 and Henry Madders' 80 drew particular adulation from his captain.
Coombs said: "It was great to watch Henry, he was just awesome. They did not have an answer for him. But it was a good opening partnership which gave him good foundations.
"How many runs are scored before you come in dictate how you play yourself. If we hadn't got off to a good start then it would have been a different game.
"We have got some momentum. We are bowling in the right areas and people are taking care of their wickets."
Opener Chris Ferris (31) and Genade put on a stand of 78 before Ferris was dismissed by Ed Shellard (1-62) and Coombs (23) along with Jon Cleverly (20) set Malmesbury an imposing total.
Home bowler Oliver Langton (57-4) was the pick of the Malmesbury attack while captain BK Majumder claimed 2-59. The home skipper had a more impressive day with the bat though, hitting 106 before falling to Kevin Green (2-19).
"It was alright, but it does not help when your opener does not score any runs and if you are chasing 280 it does not make it very easy," he said.
"We should have restricted them to 220 maximum, but we didn't take our chances."
Only Glynn Rees-Jones (24), Jeremy Newman (25) and James Pearce-Smith (25) made double figures for Malmesbury as Genade (3-55), Paul Bailey (1-39) and Cleverly (2-36) bowled well.
After their fourth win in five games Westinghouse sit fifth and entertain Devizes on Saturday with Coombs aiming to reel in Great Bedwyn.
"Wootton Bassett have run away with it, but we have still got to play them as well as Great Bedwyn," he said.
"Everyone is beating each other again and I would be very happy with a top four place considering where we were mid season.
"Games against Devizes are always competitive games and we have some friendly rivalry."
Malmesbury play their final home game of the campaign against Purton looking to bow out from the Worthies on a high.
"We will try and win it, like we do every game," said Majumder.
