MARLBOROUGH slipped to another defeat as relegation looks the only likely outcome in a season of disappointment.
Number nine George Fox top scored with 24 not out as Pete Day (19) and Ben Head (19) tried also to salvage something on Saturday.
"We should have won and we are really disappointed not to, we looked at Lydney and thought they were a team weould beat," said captain Nick Crabbe.
"If we had won, and won well, we would have got out of the relegation zone, but it looks like it is going to be between Marshfield, Hatherley and Reddings and us."
Chippenham entertain Marlborough on Saturday with Crabbe not giving up.
