CHIPPENHAM Arrows defeated Biddestone by 38 runs in the U15 Division One clash on Sunday.

Batting first, Steven Bullen (60), Robin Gamble (33) and Guy Brothwood (55) helped the Arrows post 199-9, with Robert Poole (3-12) and Jamie Penton (2-29) the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Michael Flynn (31) and James Howells (19) top-scored, but the chase fell short at 161 all out against good bowling from Brothwood (4-21), Will Giles (2-30) and Bullen (2-27).

South Wilts won by 10 wickets against Malmesbury, who they bowled out for 76.

In Division Two, Devizes were beaten by seven wickets by Warminster, who chased down the target of 152-8 for the loss of three wickets.

Wootton Bassett won by two wickets against Cannings, who batted first and reached 135 thanks to J Roberts (29) and E Marden (28).

Bassett's top bowlers were J Paish (9-3-22-4) and R Samant (9-1-28-2), while Paish (46) and J French (18) helped the run rate against the bowling of Roberts (9-5-13-2) and M Schneider (9-1-36-2).

Trowbridge won by 138 runs againt Chippenham Blades. Matthew Loft (7-2-23-4) claimed a hat-trick for the Blades, while George Beard (7-0-22-2) and Andrew Edwards (3-0-18-1) had good spells to restrict Trowbridge to 183.

Chippenham struggled in reply, with Mike Brewer (11), Loft (10) and Richard Haddrell (7) contributing to a total of 45.

Purton claimed a winning draw over Calne after hitting 280-7, with Chris Etheridge (39), Craig Miles (84), Georgio Wrona (36) and Adam Corcoran (35no) top scoring. Calne's Luke Edwards (108) and Craig Edwards (50no) led the reply which ended at 243-6 In the U13 Division One, Trowbridge defeated Swindon, who batted first and hit 90 thanks to Kyle Richards (19) and Abdul Rahman (35), by three wickets. Good bowling from David Miles (4.4-0-30-4) and Rahman (4-0-10-3) could not stop Trowbridge, who hit 91-7.

Goatacre/Spye Park sealed a sound seven wicket victory over Westbury thanks to Brad Dawson (51no) and Jack Haines (23), and good bowling from Jenna Mcfadzean (7-0-25-4).

A close game in the U11 North Division saw Biddestone beat Wootton Bassett by one run. Batting first, Alex Clark (19) and Ed Fellows (8) helped Biddestone to 55 against the bowling of Ben Mattick (4-0-3-3) and Paish (4-0-10-2).

Paish then top-scored with 12 but Clark (4-1-5-3) and James Hutchins (2-0-6-1) kept the reply down to 54-5.

Goatacre/Spye Park lost by seven wickets to Swindon after posting 47-6. Coker (12) top scored against the bowling of Tom Hyner (2-0-8-2), Ben Davies (2-1-2-1),Jack Harris (2-0-2-1) and Cameron Gordon (4-1-5-1).

Swindon reached 48-3 in reply thanks to Christy Millar's 21, while Seeton Sykes (2-0-3-1) was the pick of the bowlers.

Malmesbury won by 87 runs against Purton after big scores from Tom Whitehead (61) and James Gaunt (38) fired them to 150-8. Puton, whose top bowler was Bradley Taylor (2-12), hit 63-8 with Lay Duraffe (12) making the biggest impression. Charlie Kingsley (2-12) was the top bowler.

In the South Division, Marlborough won by 38 runs against Corsham after Ollie Norman (24) and George Heath (14) helped them to 69 against the bowling of Keiron Gibson (3-2-4-3) and Gabriel Field (1.3-1-6-2).

Two direct hit run outs from James Richardson (4-2-11-2) and Arkwright, and good bowling from Ollie Norman (4-2-9-2) and Harrison Painter (2.4-1-5-3) saw Corsham all out for 31.

Calne were beaten by eight wickets against South Wilts despite the efforts of Joe Clare (14 and 4-2-6-1) and Matt Richards (14).

Trowbridge won by 44 runs against Devizes, who were bowled out for 24 runs. Josh Hodder (4-1-15-5) and Jack Colyer (2.2-0-8-2) bowled well for the losing team.
