FASHIONISTAS from Devizes gathered for a cat walk show with a difference in a bid to raise money for our Julia's House appeal.
Boutique owner Rose Webster staged a fashion show in Pizza Express, Devizes, to boost the appeal which is aiming to raise £100,000 for a new children's hospice.
Mrs Webster, who owns Spirit in High Street, Devizes, handed over nearly £400 to Alison Radevskey chairman of the Devizes Friends of Julia's House at the end of the show and more money was later handed in to the shop.
Customers of Spirit turned models for the evening as they showed off the shop's spring/summer collection of dresses, skirts, trousers, tops and accessories.
The clothes were shown off by the models who walked among the tables as guests tucked into pizza. Money for the appeal was raised by a raffle.
Mrs Webster said she was delighted to be able to support our appeal and was pleased the money would be used to pay for carers who support Wiltshire families with seriously ill children.
The new hospice is due to open next year in part of the old Kennet District Council buildings at Browfort.
In Pewsey staff at Lloyds Bank raised £1,000 by taking part in a rather more strenuous activity. They took part in a sponsored walk around the Wiltshire countryside and raised more than £1,000.
Branch manager, Dan Waldron said: "this is a wonderful local charity and we are delighted to raise some funds for the children’s hospice that is being built in Devizes."
Ged Montgomery from Julia’s House said: "we a are thrilled and delighted with all the fantastic support we are receiving from all the Lloyds Bank Branches in Wiltshire. This event is just one of many planned during 2016."
