FURNITURE and home accessories shop OKA has reopened after a fire tore through the building.

Thirty firefighters worked together to extinguish the blaze at the flagship store in Froxfield last August, with 80 per cent of the building being damaged by smoke and 25 per cent by fire.

However, the 8,000sqft showroom is now back open for business and has been completely rebuilt. The new store is filled with OKA’s covetable range of furniture and characterful accessories and all the staff employed at the shop at the time of the fire also retained their jobs.

It is officially being reopened by the Mayor of Marlborough Margaret Rose on Saturday, September 26 from 11.30am to 4pm.

Shoppers and members of the community are invited to have a look around and join in the celebrations, which include interior design and faux flower workshops throughout the day, plus drinks served by The Travelling Gin Company.

The shop features a new glass frontage and mezzanine level housing more than 200 unique cushion designs, whilst there is also dedicated areas for lighting and faux flowers.

Also on site is a garden house where it is possible to view OKA’s collection of garden furniture all year round and for those seeking more guidance, OKA’s dedicated interior design service team are on hand to give expert advice.

Annabel Astor, brand co-founder, said: “We’re delighted with the relaunch of the shop. It’s been a lot of hard work but we’re so happy that it was ready in time to reveal our new collection.”

The shop is currently open and trading from 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. There is free parking and disabled access.
