Malmesbury telly addict Elliott Curtis has fondly remembered the day he first met "true gentleman" John Inman in the town.
Mr Inman, who played Mr Humphries in the comedy series Are You Being Served?, died last week aged 71 after suffering from hepatitis A.
Mr Curtis, 32, of Parklands, has rubbed shoulders with the famous through his work in the entertainment industry. However, it was Mr Inman who stood out.
They were introduced in 1992 by actor Wendy Richards when Grace and Favour, the sequel to Are You Being Served?, was filmed outside Malmesbury Town Hall.
"It was a really special day," said Mr Curtis. "I went with Wendy and met John, Mollie Sugden and Frank Thornton.
"I spent most of the day with them while they were filming and showed them around Malmesbury.
"Wendy then asked a few nights later if I wanted to come to The Bell for dinner.
"So I got to go out with Wendy, John and Mollie - I remember it like it was yesterday."
He added: "I was shocked when I heard on Thursday he had died. It's a total shame."
