An update on plans for a Devizes campus will be given at the annual meeting of the town’s community area partnership on November 7.
It’s being held in the Assembly Room at Devizes Town Hall from 6.30pm. Officers will be elected and there will be reports on subjects affecting the town.
Wiltshire Council wants all towns to have a campus to include services such as health, leisure and police.
The first to open was in Corsham and Melksham’s has been given the go-ahead, but planning is at a much earlier stage in Devizes.
Last December a public meeting was held to ask for people’s preferences, but no decision has yet been made on a site for the campus.
Wiltshire Council leader Jane Scott has said that the Devizes School and Leisure Centre complex could be a possibility. Devizes Hospital could also be a site. In some towns libraries might be closed and moved to the new hubs, but this suggestion in Chippenham met with disapproval from local people.
