The Calne Food and Drink festival will return next September despite the postponement of this year’s event, according to the festival’s chairman.
This year’s celebration, which was due to take place this weekend, was cancelled back in June due to a lack of people able to put time into organising the event.
Chairman of the festival, Robert Merrick, said: “We are all trying to find time to get together to work on and find ideas for next year.
“It will definitely be happening next September, the first weekend after the schools go back.”
The first Food and Drink festival took place in 2011 but it now looks likely that the event will be biennial, happening every other year.
Last year, there were nearly 30 food stalls around the town centre as well as cooking demonstrations and a beer and cider festival.
A hoedown in the town hall in the New Year may be organised as part of the re-launching process for next year’s event.
