Friday, September 12 will be a momentous day for Wiltshire when the Tour of Britain races through the county.
More than 100 of the finest cyclists in the world, including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, will give the people of the county a chance to see world class sportsmen up close.
The tour’s arrival in the county, and the celebrations planned in the towns through which it passes, will remind many of the fervour that surrounded the progress of the 2012 Olympic torch through Wiltshire.
We join Wiltshire Council leader Jane Scott in urging as many people as possible to turn out and watch the race, join in the fun and maybe be a inspired by what they see.
