Staff at Morrisons in Chippenham have raised £1,000 for charity by helping colleagues in the region cycle the equivalent of the circumference of the Earth.
Workers clocked up 223 miles over two days on an exercise bike to raise money for Sue Ryder, which provides hospice care.
They reached their target by taking it in turns to pedal half an hour at a time.
The bike, placed at the store entrance, was lent by Gym UK, on Bumpers Farm, and the feat was started by the mayor of Chippenham, John Scragg.
Michele Pattemore, community champion for the store, said: “The 112 Morrisons across the south west were set a challenge to cycle 24,902 miles, which is the circumference of the Earth.”
Store general manager John Kervell said: “Thank you to all cycling fanatics who came down to the store, cheered on our colleagues and dug deep into their pockets. Together we have raised significant funds for Sue Ryder’s vital community care and support in our area.”
Staff chose an Hawaiian theme, with food stalls, fancy dress and cake bakes also held to generate donations.
