A man who downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children has been warned he could be facing a jail term.
And Peter Bell, 59, has been ordered to register as a sex offender after admitting a string of offences when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.
Bell admitted five counts of making and one of possessing indent images of children in Corsham between 2007 and January this year.
He also admitted possessing prohibited images of children on a date in December last year.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to Friday, September 19, and released Bell, who gave the court an address in Southampton, on bail until then.
And he warned him: "The fact that I am granting you bail should not be taken as an indication of the final outcome of the case."
He also told him he must register as a sex offender with the total time he must remain notifying the authorities determined by the sentence he receives.
