There was raw emotion as friends and family of camp site manager Sam Walden said goodbye to the man with an infectious smile and love for life.
Scores of people packed West Wiltshire Crematorium in Semington on Friday to say their last farewells to Mr Walden, 29, from Blackland Lakes, near Calne, who died in a motorcycle accident in Belgium.
His mother Barbara, brother Joe and partner Hannah Schweitzer spoke movingly about the man they all said had huge influence for the better on their lives.
Joe Walden, 24, added laughter to the tears as he remembered the antics the brothers had got up to when they were younger. He then played a video of some of Mr Walden’s more extreme efforts on two wheels and four.
A scene of him doing a wheelie on a motorbike outside Trowbridge police station and another him putting a Land Rover on a near impossible angle as he negotiated a huge muddy puddle on the downs near his home added a lighter note to a ceremony that was full of emotion.
Ms Schweitzer spoke of her love for her partner and how she would never forget him while Mrs Walden called him her rock.
Pictures of Mr Walden doing a thumbs up was placed at the front of the chapel and reminded the congregation of the smile that so many said he always had on his face.
The service conducted by Angela Ward included the music Power Of Your Love by Heber Vega, a reading of the anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone and finished with The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love to which everyone was invited to join in.
Mr Walden died on August 6 as he travelled through Belgium to a motorcycle track day.
He was manager of the Blacklands Lake campsite, which had originally been opened by his parents, Barbara and John, in the 1980s.
