FATHER Andy Bayliss completed a tough 106 kilometre walking challenge on Saturday to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of his unborn son.

The 41-year-old took on the Isle of White Challenge in honour of Harry, who was diagnosed with a heart defect 20 weeks into the pregnancy and died ten weeks later.

Mr Bayliss, a driver for Stok UK, started training in March and has been walking around the Pewsey Vale to prepare for the challenge which is the equivalent of two-and-a-half marathons.

He said: “It was very difficult but I managed to do the 106km so I’m really pleased.

“I set a target of £700 and I’ve raised £620 so far which I’m very pleased with.”

The walk took Mr Bayliss 29 hours.

Mr Bayliss, who lives with his wife Julie, seven-year-old son Thomas and 23-year-old daughter Coraline, in Slater Road, Pewsey, said: “My friends and family have been fantastic.

"They kept me going through the last 50km because I was suffering with blisters and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to finish.”
