Rowde Parish Council is asking villagers to pledge support for its bid for funding to Sport England to build an activity centre on the village sports field.
The council says that to improve its chances of receiving a grant it would like to indicate that villagers will be contributing by offering services in kind, such as helping to demolish the existing pavilion and free labour.
The councils adds that a pledge is not contractually binding but is offered under ‘best endeavours’.
People wishing to contribute with equipment, a skill or time should contact the parish clerk, Rebekah Jeffries, at rowdeparishcouncil@gmail.com. You should leave your name and the extent of your pledge.
