ACTION for the River Kennet is encouraging residents in Marlborough to reduce their water consumption through an initiative next month.
The charity is hoping to make September Save Water in Marlborough Month and has teamed up with Thames Water and Climate Energy to promote it.
The town is challenged to start the plan to save two million litres of water a year.
Marlborough resident Nick Dickenson, who works for Climate Energy, will be knocking on doors in the town to talk about and install free water-saving devices.
ARK’s water efficiency champion Helen Kelly said: “Getting the water saving devices fitted is so easy, it takes half an hour, costs nothing and for our family of five has made a significant reduction to our water and energy bill.
“It’s not always easy to be water-wise when you have a busy lifestyle, having the water-saving devices fitted means that the thinking has already been done.”
To reach the two million litre target ARK needs 120 homes to say ‘yes’ to Mr Dickenson when he knocks.
