Devizes Rotary Club is raising money for Green Lane Hospital in the town, which looks after patients with mental health problems.
The club has presented mobile phones for staff on Imber ward and the latest donation was of an Xbox for patients. Rotary club member Dr David Hogg said: “Mental illness gets a little bit ignored and we have got this excellent psychiatric facility in Green Lane.
“A study has been done on people with schizophrenia playing video games that showed that they retained more cognitivie function than people who didn’t play video games.
“It’s therapeutic and engages them.”
The club’s next project will be to decorate one of the wards.
