A charity 24-hour netball shootathon in Devizes is thought to have raised more than £1,000.
The event was organised by Ella Harding, Trudie Procter and Nicky Chambers, of Devizes Netball Club, to raise money for Nicky’s trip to India with the Netball Development Trust.
A total of 53 people took part in 15-minute slots to score as many goals as they could on a tennis court at Devizes Sports Club.
At one point participants were drenched by rain and also had to use torches because of a power failure.
The player who scored the most goals in 15 minutes was Kelly Morgan, who scored 369 goals. A total of 14,972 goals were scored in the 24 hours.
Mrs Chambers, 45, a netball coach and captain of Devizes Netball Club’s second team, said: “It was really good fun and I’d like to thank everyone who took part.”
She thinks she will top the £650 she had budgeted to raise from the event.
